The clients brief was to provide cover for team members, spectators and officials who can watch cricket while still being under cover by the boundary.
The proposed location which was put forward by the client was nestled in between the newly extended club room and store cupboard and lent itself to being able to provide a convenient location with easy access to all areas whilst sitting right on the boundary of the main ground.
After an initial visit to measure and discuss the cricket club’s requirements, a quotation and drawing plan was supplied. On acceptance of the proposal a further in-depth site survey was arranged to confirm measurements and consider the finer details like colour & weight of the PVC covers, fixing points & floor base options. The 650g white PVC used in this project was fire tested to BS7837:1996 flammability performance for textiles used in the construction of marquees and similar structures using BS5438:1989 – Test 2B Limited Flame Spread – Bottom Edge Ignition.
The structure was designed to allow easy access to the existing buildings gutters. The pitch of the roof was created to provide maximum viewing out onto the sports field and incorporating advertising banner rails. The position of the structure utilises the in-situ gutters to collect rain water from the marquee roof. The covers can be easily removed for cleaning or for future replacement.
The bespoke, made to measure, aluminium frame canopy & covers were manufactured in-house by our experienced team and then delivered & installed at the site within 4 weeks of the order, ready for the start of the 2014 cricket season.
On-going report. Following a site visit in 2018 to inspect the equipment, it was noted that all components were sound and still in good order.
